Belthangady, Apr 2, 2012: A new chariot was offered to Shri Manjunathaswamy Temple in Dharmasthala on the occasion of the annual festival of Lord Vishnu on April 1 Sunday. 


Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, the dharmadhikari of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala, honored Koteshwar Laxminarayan Acharya and his team, who made the chariot.

Receiving the chariot, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade said that people will get a darshan of Lord Manjunatha when the deity is taken out in the chariot during the annual festival. He also expressed his appreciation of the sculptors. 


Speaking on the occasion, sculptor Koteshwar Laxminarayan Acharya said that the chariot was built with great devotion. 


Koteshwar Laxminarayan Acharya is 69 years old and he started building chariots in 1969. This is his 69th chariot and it comprises 69 fine carvings. 


The annual festival will commence on April 12.
