Seminar held on financial planning as career option

Mangalore, August 6: Team Lease Services, the largest staffing company of India; Indian Institution of Job Training (IIJT), the fastest growing vocational education company in India; and the Financial Planning Standards Board India, organized an awareness seminar on career in financial planning at Hotel Deepa Comfort on Aug 6 Saturday.

 

Shajan Samuel, the divisional head of IIJT, spoke on the topic India as a Growing Economy and said that the Indian market has a potential for 50,000 financial planners. The Purchasing Index, recently prepared by the Business Intelligent Unit (BIU) of Mangalore, shows that the purchasing power of Mangalore has increased. 

Mr. Samuel said that the BIU felt the necessity of educating Mangaloreans about different financial planning careers. He also lauded the efforts of the FBSB and IIJT to reach out to the people of Mangalore and to create awareness for a niche-specialized career option such as financial planning. 

Sanjeev Mathur, the AVP of the Financial Planning Standards Board of India, said that India requires qualified money managers and that a certified financial planner equips professionals to develop technical skills, identify client needs quantitatively and accurately, and satisfy them through a comprehensive solution. 

Neethi Trivedi, the certified financial planner, spoke of the value of being a certified financial planner.
