Sanyasi Gudde road works in Balmatta initiated

Mangaluru, Nov 16, 2014: The task of laying a new concrete road at Sanyasi Gudde in Balmatta was initiated on November 16, Sunday. JR Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South inaugurated the road works.

In his address, Lobo informed that Rs 5 lakh would be contributed towards the project from the MLC fund of Ivan D’Souza.

Vinayraj, local corporator said Rs 43 lakh has been earmarked for the laying of the road and another Rs 23 lakh for the drainage works.

Mayor Mahabala Maarla, who was present as a chief guest, said the MCC would put in efforts to complete several pending projects in a phased manner.

Ivan D’Souza, MLC, Tejomaya, former MUDA chairman, TK Sudhir, Arun Coelho and several others were present.

Great news which I read only a few days ago (August 7, 2017). Just want to know what the progress has been over nearly 3 years since the work began. My interest is that I was born on Sanyasi Gudde Road (opposite Vaz Bakery, just a level below the mansion of Vakil UCS Bhat’s (our house was was then a shack and Mr Bhat rented it to my father), That was ions ago. Whenever I visit India, I spend a few days in Mangalore and do not forget to visit that area.
