Sambar rescued from well at Derebail-Konchady; shifted to Pilikula

 Mangalore, May 20, 2013 : A sambar which was wandering in  forest area close by a plantation at Derebail-Konchady here, was  on May 19, Sunday spotted inside a well.

A large crowd gathered outside the open well belonging to Dr U Kumaraswamy on coming to know  of the presence of a  sambar. The animal  was noticed when the  workers in the plantation  peeped into the well on finding that the water released from the well into the plantation had become slushy.

 

 

The Fire Service Personnel as well as the Pilikula Nisargadhama authorities were intimated  and the animal finally rescued.

The Sambar which was quite weak  was however  fine and was shifted to Pilikula Nisargadhama after being treated by a veterinarian.

 Dr U Kumaraswamy who spoke to media men said the Sambar had been moving around since past four years, but never troubled anyone. He said the animal might have fallen into the well two days ago.
