Mangalore, Feb 3, 2013: The Pradhana Kalashabhisheka of the Sahasra Kumbhabhisheka at Sri Venkatramana Temple at Carstreet here, was offered at the divine hands of Srimad Sudhindra Theertha Swamiji, Senior Pontiff of Kashi Mutt Samsthan, at 12.44 noon on February 3, Sunday. Hundreds of devotees who had gathered at the temple precincts to be a part of the great occasion were soaked with devotion on witnessing the most auspicious ceremony.
Earlier in the morning, the Abhimantrana programme of the 1008 Kalasha offerings, were held. Following a special Mahaprarthana, there was Panchamritha Abhisheka, Ganga Poojana arituals later on. Sahasra Kalashabhisheka was later offered by Srimad Samyameendra Theertha Swamiji, the junior seer and anointed successor of Kashi Mutt Samsthan.
After the Pradhana Kalashabhisheka by the senior seer, both the Swamijis offered Maha Mangalarathi to Lord Shree Veera Venkatesha. Later there was Mangalanirikshane, Patta Kanike, and Poornahuti at Yajna Mantapa.
The Sahasra Kumbhabhisheka being held as part of the first anniversary of Punar Pratishta celebrations of the temple, will conclude with a public function at the magnificent podium in front of the temple on Sunday evening. Both the senior and junior swamijis of Kashi Mutt Samsthan will bless the occasion.
As part of cultural programmes on February 2, evening, famed singer Anuradha Podwal presented a devotional songs concert.
