Mangalore, Agu 9, 2011 : K. V. Krishnadas, the president of Saadhana National Cultural Foundation, said that S. Ganesh Rao, the chairman of the Karavali Group, will inaugurate the Saadhana Awards ceremony at Town Hall on Aug 28 Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

Revealing further details, he said that the chief guests will be P. C. M. Kunhi, the director of Yenepoya Educational Institutions; Shashiraj Kolambe, the industrialist; and Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, the president of the district Kannada Sahitya Parishad.

Dr. Devadas Rai, the district governor of the Rotary Club, will launch the official website of Yasha Karnataka on the occasion. Harikrishna Punaroor, the former president of Kendra Kannada Sahitya Parishad, will preside over the event. District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar will present the awards. Dharmendra Ganeshpura, the chairman of Janaki Group, and Shivananda Karkera, the president of Gokarnanatha Cooperative Bank, will also be present.

Saadhan Awards will be conferred on senior movie star Ananthavelu, senior film actress Radha Ramachandra, senior dancer Muralidhar Rao, director Vijayakumar Kodialbail, Deccan Herald Mangalore Bureau Chief Ronald Fernandes, senior litterateur V. G. Nayak, senior Yakshagana artist Jalavalli Venkatesh Rao, senior social worker Saraswathi Bhat, and senior litterateur Umesh Rao Yekkur.

Shareef Katipalla, the singer, actor, and producer, will receive the Saadhana Yuva Prashasti. His first Beary comedy CD Tell Chirikoru will be launched by M. G. Hedge, the director of MIFT.

Yashupriya Krishnadas’s Tulu video album Udugire will be released by P. Mahabala Chowta, the managing director of Kodikal Durga Furnitures.

Indushree, the internationally acclaimed artiste, will perform a talking doll show and Nagehabba; N. Ramanath Bangalore will present Hasya Sambrama; Rajkumar Jagadeesh Shivapura will present Gaana Gunagaana; and Sharadamani Shekar, the dance teacher at Sanathana Natyalaya, will present a Bharathanatya programme.
