SJEC holds national conference on achieving competence

Mangalore, March 23, 2012 : A national conference titled ‘Achieving Distinctive Competence through Service and Excellence’ organized by the Department of Business Administration of St Joseph Engineering College was inaugurated on 22 March, 2012 at 10.00 a.m. in the Conference Hall, Mechanical Engineering Block, SJEC.

 Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Stephen D’Silva, the director of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, said that the 7-point program comprising values, learning, conviction and passion, change, humility, team work, and optimism must be inculcated for success in life. He also stated that MBA graduates learn 10 percent from academics, 15 percent from professional and social networks, and 75 percent from life.

 

 

Mr. Albert D’Souza, the chairman of Printania Offset Pvt. Ltd. and chairman of St. John’s College of Engineering and Technology in Mumbai, was the chief guest of the event. Dr. Joseph Gonsalves, the principal of SJEC, was the guest of honor and so was Rev. Henry Mascarenhas, the assistant director of SJEC. Rev. Fr. Valerian D’Souza, the director of SJEC, delivered the presidential address.

Mr. Albert D’Souza released the proceedings of the national conference. Dr. Anjali Ganesh, the professor and conference convener, furnished the purview of the national conference and proposed the vote of thanks.

Seventy delegates from business schools and colleges all over India are participating in this event.
