SDPI holds ‘DC office chalo’ march demanding removal of Brahmarakotlu Toll Gate

Mangaluru, Aug 19, 2026: Alleging that the Brahmarakotlu Toll Gate in Dakshina Kannada district has been collecting toll on an unscientific road for the past 25 years in violation of prescribed norms and beyond its stipulated period, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) on Tuesday organized a “DC Office Chalo” march demanding its removal.

The protest march began near the Brahmarakotlu Toll Gate and proceeded to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office at Padil, with a large number of party workers and supporters taking part.

During the march, protesters raised slogans demanding the immediate removal of the toll gate and expressed their anger over the continued collection of toll fees.

SDPI leaders Riyas Farangipete, Anwar Sadath Bajathur, Ashraf Addur, Alphonso Franco, and several local leaders were present at the protest.
