Dalit leaders alleged during the meeting that many of the cases booked against the Dalits were false. Vittal V. B. complained that Ditin Kumar, a traffic police officer, had taken Rs. 1000 from him without giving him a receipt once on Nov 8, 2011 and again this February. He said that no steps have been taken against the officer in spite of his complaints. The commissioner said that he will conduct an enquiry.

Anand, a member of the Dalit Sangarsh Samithi, said that the case against Bharathi, the sub inspector of Pandeshwar Police Station, who stands accused of threatening a Dalit youth with encounter, has not made any progress. In response, DCP Muthuraya said that this case is being handed over to DCP Ravindra Gadadi for investigation.

Mr. Anand also said that the police are not taking any action against the repeated fights at Jyothi Nagar in Kavoor, fought under the influence of drugs. The commissioner directed Anand to report to the police station in case he sees such a fight again.

Dalit leaders also complained that they did not get the proceedings of the grievance meetings in spite of repeated requests.
