Mangalore, Oct 10, 2012: Grace Pinto, noted educationist and managing director of Ryan International Group of Institutions, said on Oct 10 Wednesday that Ryan International School will soon be launched in Mangalore.

Addressing reporters at an interactive session held at Hotel Ocean Pearl in Mangalore, she said that Ryan International Group of Institutions is the largest group of private schools in the country, adding that the network includes over 120 schools in 40 cities in 15 states all over the country. The group already has three schools in Bangalore and will launch another school in Mangalore shortly.

Regarding the delay in establishing a school in Mangalore, she said that Mangalore is their home town and they wanted to be well-known before launching an educational project in Mangalore.

Further, she said that the group has adopted 40 children from the deprived sections of society in Haryana and Pondicherry. She also said that the group has adopted and educated 400 children from Tsunami-hit areas and around 500 children from the border of Haryana.

Speaking about her experiences in the education sector, she said that she began as an teacher after her marriage. The first school was started with only 30 students in Mumbai. Stating that she had always dreamed of being a teacher, she said that her dream came true when she got married to Dr. A. F. Pinto, founder chairman of Ryan International Group. She had to sell all her gold jewelry to start her first school in Mumbai, she added.

The National Education and Human Resources Development Organization conferred the National Educational Excellence Award on Grace Pinto in 2012. Honorable Lok Sabha Speaker Mr. Somnath Chatterjee conferred the Silver Plaque Award at the FICCI Centre, New Delhi in 2006.

 

Ms Pinto is one of the few persons who was invited to dine with The President of USA; not once...but thrice. Her social activities to the under previllaged and differently handicaped as well as Aged people were recognised by the Govt.
