Mangalore, Nov 29: Rx Life, a lifestyle centre for the youth, organized a mega cycle rally in Mangalore on Nov 29, Sunday. In organizing this cycle rally, the organizers, Giridhar Kamath and Gayathri Bhat, had in mind oil conservation and inculcation of traffic values among the youth. Another purpose was to politely remind the district administration to cater to the requirements of cyclists and to protect their interests. The cycle rally was also part of Rx Life’s third anniversary celebrations.

The cyclists, displaying their motto “Bale Cycle Budka” (Come Let’s Ride Cycles), inaugurated their rally in Lady Hill, Mangalore. The rally commenced at Lady Hill, passed Kottara Chowki, went over the Kulur Bridge, and finally reached Bengre. In all, the rally covered a total distance of 18 kilometers. The cyclists used 2 motor boats belonging to Mahajana Sabha Ferry Services to cross the backwaters to Bengre. 

The rally’s 682 participants belonged to the age group of 7 – 70. Prasad, the partner of Surabhi Agencies, and Vijay, the marketing manager of T I Cycles Chennai led the rally.

The valedictory programme was organized at Gandhi Park in Manngudda. As part of it, a lucky draw was organized, in which Pavithra Nayak won the first prize, a BSA Ladybird Cycle. Srinivas and Nihal won a Hercules Cycle each. All the participants received a number of gifts and gift vouchers. 

Madhavanna, who has been repairing cycles for more than 40 years, was felicitated during this occasion. 

The members of Gandhi Nagar Park Trust as well as representatives from Team Mangalore were also present.
