Renowned Entrepreneur Maroor Kamalaksha Pai passes away

Mangaluru, August 9, 2024: Maroor Kamalaksha Pai, 84, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 6:17 p.m. at his residence in Mannagudda following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Smt. Savitha, and two sons, Maroor Achuth Pai and Maroor Ajith Pai.

Born on September 9, 1939, he completed his pre-university studies at St. Aloysius College and graduated in Belgaum. He was one of the first-generation entrepreneurs of the renowned Maroor Group, which is engaged in the retailing and distribution of automobile parts, machine tools, and engineering products in Mangalore and the surrounding districts. In addition to his business achievements, Kamalaksha Pai was an avid sportsman, excelling as a champion cricketer and tennis player. He represented the Pentlandpet Sports Association (PPSA) and Balamaruti Tennis Club with distinction. He was also actively participating in Sri Mahalasa Narayani Temple, Konchady.

Funeral Details:

The last rites will be performed on Saturday, August 10, at 10:00 a.m. at his residence, Mahalasa Prasad, Gandhinagar 2A Cross Road, Mannagudda, Mangalore, followed by cremation at Boloor Crematorium.
