Ranjitha murder case: Family sets ultimatum for arrest of accused

Udupi, Nov 29, 2013 : A protest was staged  in front of the Udupi SP office on November 28, Thursday  by  the Dalita Sangharsha Samithi  and the family of Ranjitha who was  killed by a neighbour named Yogish  for turning down his love.

The agitators demanded the arrest of the  accused and his family immediately. They have also set a 24 hour ultimatum to the police.

 The agitators accused the Malpe SI Jayanth  of failing to initiate  action in the case  even after the family had complained against Yogish who was troubling Ranjitha since a year.The family also said that it had even written to the DC recently  against the youth.

M Devadas, DSS State Convenor who also spoke alleged that the police had failed to register an FIR despite the family lodging a complaint  in September.

Ramesh Kotian  DSS Udupi district Convener also spoke on the occasion.

Udupi SP Boralingaiah who met the agitators promised to arrest the  accused youth at the earliest. He also informed that three teams have been formed for the purpose.
