Ramanath Rai expresses confidence of Congress gaining power

Mangalore, Apr 4, 2012: Addressing reporters at a press conference held at the office of the District Congress on April 4 Wednesday, MLA Ramanath Rai expressed confidence of the Congress soon gaining power in Karnataka. 

Congratulating Jayaprakash Hegde on winning the Udupi – Chikmagalur Lok Sabha by-polls, he said that the Congress has won 7 out of 8 Vidhan Sabha constituencies, which has improved its chances of coming to power in Karnataka. 

 

Speaking about strengthening the party, he said that Congress Workers’ Meets will be held in all constituencies and districts. All great Congress leaders will participate in this event, he added. 

Programs to encourage people, especially the youth to join the Congress will also be held under the slogan “Congressge Banni Badhalavane Thanni” (Join the Congress and create change), he said. 

He informed that the Congress will hold a public meeting on April 21 Saturday in Mangalore North constituency and at 4:00 p.m. in the Mangalore South Constituency. Another public meeting will be held in Mangalore City on April 22 in the morning and in Bantwal in the evening. On the morning of April 23, a public meet will be held in Moodubidri and in the evening, it will be held in Belthangady. 

The Congress also plans to hold zone-level and booth-level meets in each constituency, he added. 

Congress leaders Sadashiv Ullal, Ivan D’Souza, Mayor Gulzar Banu, Mithun Rai, Ashraf, Shashidhar Hegde, Vijayakumar Shetty, Sudhir T. K., and others were also present.
