Ram Bhat seeks support of BJP workers to retain DVS as CM

Mangalore Today News Network

Puttur, July 7, 2012: Former MLA and mentor of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that the BJP workers should not allow the High Command to change the leadership and allow a leader from Lingayath community to take the seat of Chief Minister.

Ram BhatSpeaking to press persons here on Friday, he said the conspiracy hatched  by the former Chief Minister asking Sadanada Gowda to step down to make Jagadeesh Shettar of Lingayat community to elevate the post of Chief Minister has affected the state administration. If change in leadership is allowed, then it will create hatredness among two prominent communities-Gowda and Lingayats.

Yeddyurappa and his supporters have forgotten the welfare of the people of the state and are engaged in fight for power, which is a political tragedy.

He said it is a tragedy that L K Advani has been projected as villain for opposing the change in leadership and indiscipline within the party. There is a need to strengthen the hands of Advani, by supporting him. “We need to send him a message that we are ready to support him to oppose the conspiracy hatched by Yeddyurappa and bring the BJP on right track. The BJP committees at the village, district-level should resolve over the issue and send a clear message to Advani.”

He said “Yeddyurappa who was facing charges of corruption was asked to step down. Yeddyurappa had been trying to destabilise DVS’s government.”

It is the outsiders who joined the BJP are supporting Yeddyurappa. When BSY named DVS as Chief Minister, he did not remember his community members, he alleged.

The Central leadership never tried to bring in discipline when Yeddyurappa and his supporters engaged in conspiracy to destabilise the government.

The High Command did not initiate action against Yeddyurappa when the situation reached out of control, which is a tragic development within the party.  BJP which was identified as a party with difference and discipline has not lived upto its mark.

“No one should bow their head for Yeddyurappa’s conspiracy. There is no truth behind the statement that Lingayat community members will move away from the BJP, if Yeddyurappa’s demands are not met. Lingayat community members supported him when Kumaraswamy refused to hand over the power as per the agreement on an compassionate ground, he recalled.
