Delivering the introductory address, Pundalik Naik spoke of the contributions of Konkani writers over the past century, voicing his opinion that a novel is not an expansion of the story as it can even be short depending on its content.

Addressing the gathering, Basti Vaman Shenoy spoke on the significance of Konkani literature, adding that Konkani literature can grow only when such symposiums are held.

The symposium included discussions on the growth of Konkani novels in Goa and Karnataka.
