Rahim Uchil, Beary Sahitya Academy President brutally attacked inside the academy office in Attavar

Mangalore, March 15: Rahim Uchil, Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy President brutally attacked by two unidentified persons inside the academy office in Attavar today at around 1.30 pm today, March 15, 2012.

The unfortunate incident took place inside the Beary Academy office in the Presidium Complex, Attavar. Two unidentified persons had come in bikes, barged inside the Beary Academy office and attacked Rahim Uchil with sword. They have brocken glass pannels and vandalised office.

The attackers had covered their face with towel to evade identity. Political grudge seems to be the reason behim the attack. Rahim is admitted in Unity Hospital, Falnir, Mangalore. His condition is believed to be serious. Rahim has deep injuries in stomach, neck and hands.

 

 

Rahim Uchil is also the general secretary of the district BJP minority unit. A month back, Rahim had called a press conference to clarfy a rumour about an attack on him that took place in Padubidri. He had clarfied that there was no incident like what was being rumoured.

Mangalore City Police Commissioner, Seemant Kumar Singh visited the hospital and believed to have talked with Rahim. Police have recovered Swords and other weapons used for the crime near the apartment complex.The Pandeswar police is investigating the case.

 

The Chief Minister, D V Sadanand Gowda who is Udupi for the election campaign is expected to visit Rahim in the Hospital.
