RSS unit Seva Bharathi will adopt flood-hit villages

Mangalore, Dec 1: S R Rangamurthy of Seva Bharathi said that the Karnataka unit of Seva Bharathi, a unit of RSS, will adopt some flood-hit villages of North Karnataka. He was speaking at a meeting held today in the auditorium of the Karnataka Bank, Kodialbail, Mangalore. 









Santhosh, the secretary of the BJP organizing committee, explained that RSS, along with its sister association, has already completed the basics of rebuilding 4 villages. Seva Bharathi will complete the foundation work in case of other villages by the end of the first week of December.

He informed the gathering that Seva Bharathi has already signed an MOU with the government to rebuild the houses as per government plans. The government has already given 30X50 sites for each house; and the houses will be rebuilt by the association within these boundaries. The rebuilding cost per house is estimated to be anywhere between Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 1.3 lakh. This money will be collected by RSS members in favor of Seva Bharathi. The collected funds will be used to rebuild the villages. 

Dr. Prabhakar Bhat lauded the efforts of RSS volunteers in helping the disaster-stricken villages of North Karnataka. He said that the chief minister has achieved a great deal by collecting Rs. 2,000 crores in just one day. This was possible only because of the good work done by the government and the willingness to help on the part of the public in general and RSS volunteers in particular.
