Puttur student dies in mishap at Madikeri

Puttur, Mar 1, 2013: Shivananda Nayak (23), a BSW student of St Philomena College, Puttur  met a tragic end in a mishap  at Mandalapatti in Madikeri on the night of February 27, Wednesday.

The mishap took place  when Shivananda along with his friends was returning to Madikeri by car after taking part in the college annual day celebrations.According to sources,  their car which was parked at the Mandalapatti tourist spot in the  night, moved back and fell off the hill when Shivananda was inside it to fetch some things. However, according to another source, the car rolled off the cliff while Shivananda was driving the car.

Meanwhile it is also being said that Shivananda had committed suicide for fear of conviction in a theft case in which he was involved. The case was before the court.

Madikeri  police are conducting the investigations.
