Puttur, Aug 9, 2013 : In a moral policing incident reported from Puttur on August 8, Thursday, activists of a Hindu organization threatened and attacked two Muslim students who hosted an Eid party to their friends including Hindu girls.
The injured students namely Abdul Samad (21) and Mohammad Jalal (18) of Keremoole in Chikkamudnur village have been admitted to Mahaveera Hospital. Abdul Samad is an MSW student of Srinivas College in Mangalore while Jalal is a second PUC student at Pragathi Study Centre of Puttur.
It is learnt, the two boys had invited MSW students Dikshith, Lohila, Shwetha and Vishwalatha who had come for field work of Dharmasthala Rural Development Project at Puttur, for a Ramzan party at Hotel Lakshmi in the heart of Puttur.
When the students were having lunch, they were threatened by three persons including Sachin and Sooraj for having food with Hindu girls.Later, when the students were heading towards Salmara in an auto they were reportedly intercepted by a group of ten persons including Sachin, Sooraj Chandrasingh, Avinash and Ganesh who took them to an isolated location and assaulted the two boys.
