Mangalore, Oct 11: Prof. Arunachalam Kumar, Editor of the Nitte University Journal of Health Science, has been nominated as Scholar-Member to the prestigious World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), an USA based international organization that has editors of more than 950 research journals drawn from 98 countries.
The world body is a watchdog for ethical values and evaluation quality of peer-reviewed journals. The NUJHS, published by Nitte University is indexed / listed in numerous citation databases worldwide, including Scopus, SciVerse, Excerpta Medica / Embase, Biobase-CABS, Index Copernicus, Mosby’s Index, getCITED, Genamics JournalSeek, Geneva Foundation for Medical education & Research (GFMER), Hinari (WHO) Scholar Google, NursesMeet. The journal is also licensed as open-access through Creative Commons
As editor of NUJHS, Dr. Kumar has taken the journal to international standards in reach and readability. The recognition awarded to Dr. Kumar (also Director (R&D) makes him perhaps one among a handful of academician / editors from India to be empanelled by WAME.
