President of India confers Gold Medal on Dr. Shwetha Kamath of Mangalore

Mangalore, Oct 24, 2012: Dr. Shwetha Kamath of Mangalore has been conferred with the coveted Gold Medal for Best Junior Resident for 2012 by His Excellency Mr Pranab Mukherjee, President of India during the Convocation Ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences held in New Delhi on Tuesday, 16th October 2012.

The President handed over the gold medal and certificate to her in the presence of Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare.

An alumnus of St Agnes Institutions and Canara PU College, she earned her MBBS degree at KS Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA), Mangalore before completing her MD (Pathology) with distinction from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, the premier institution of the country.

She is the daughter Mrs. Shantha and Mr. Surathkal Srinivas Kamath of Pound Garden, Kadri, Mangalore.
