Poojary offers special prayers for Sonia Gandhi’s recovery

Mangalore, Aug 8: Janardhan Poojary, the former minister, today offered prayers for the speedy recovery of Sonia Gandhi, the Congress leader, who recently underwent surgery in the US, at St. Joseph Prashanth Nivas Old Age Home in Jeppu. Poojary was accompanied by several party workers, including MLA U. T. Khader.

Later, he distributed fruits and sweets to the inmates of the old age home and said that he considers the old age home the best place to pray for the health of Sonia Gandhi, who was very ill after the operation, because the sisters take care of over 400 handicapped, poor, orphaned, and old people at this home.

Speaking further, he said that it is the duty of the Congress workers to pray for the speedy recovery of Sonia Gandhi, who has done so much for the development of the country.

Poojary had also offered special prayers at Sayyid Madani Dargah in Ullal on Aug 7 Saturday for the quick recovery of Mrs. Gandhi, and before that he had performed urulu seve at Lord Gokarnanatheshwara Temple in Kudroli.
