Poojari says he is not in favour of bringing Udupi Krishna Mutt under govt control

Udupi, May 25, 2013 : Senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari is apparently against the government moves to bring the Udupi Krishna Mutt under the Mujrai Department.

This was evident, when Poojari who addressed press persons here said  that  the proposal was unnecessary at the moment more so when the administration of the Sri Krishna Mutt was going on well.

The senior Congress leader said the government need to concentrate on other basic necessities and problems of the people at this juncture instead of concentrating on religious issues.

Poojari also assured to  raise the issue with the government authorities and ensure that the Krishna Mutt was not brought under government control.

Poojari was also critical of the BJP plans to hold a Jail Bharo agitation on May 27 against what the party termed as ‘corrupt’ practices of the UPA government. The senior Congress leader said the BJP leaders should be ashamed of themselves before terming the UPA as corrupt.

On the Congress government in the state, Poojari said the people have reposed high faith in the government and urged it to live upto the expectations of the people.
