Poojari promises to reduce property tax if Congress is voted to power in MCC

Mangalore, Feb 28, 2013: Senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhana Poojary has said that the BJP-led government was the most  corrupt  government in the history of Karnataka and has no moral right to continue in power.

Speaking to reporters here on February 28, Thursday, Poojary said that several cases of atrocities on women have been reported from the state in the past five years  during the BJP rule  and added the rule has been marred by corruption and various scams. The BJP has lost  the trust of the people   and the voters are sure to  go against this corrupt government during this election, Poojari predicted.

 

Coming down heavily on the BJP rule in the MCC which had hiked property tax by 10 per cent as soon as it came to power, Poojari promised that the Congress, if voted to power would reduce the property tax.

Seventy per cent of the BJP ministers are corrupt, Poojari said and added the state during the BJP rule has seen an unprecedented  incident wherein a former chief minister was imprisoned.

 Many instances like church attacks, rave party and  home stay attack can only be  counted in their achievement list, he said. The BJP has even misused most of the funds sanctioned for the development of the city thus leaving the infrastructure work of footpaths and drainage pending, he alleged.

Poojari informed that senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes will release the poll manifesto on March 2, Saturday.
