Stating that migrants are more prone to the disease, he said that the health department has made arrangements to identify migrant labourers and teams have been formed to visit building construction sites so that kids can be vaccinated on the spot.

He also said that only one polio case was reported from Howrah in West Bengal in 2011, adding that polio has reduced all over the world thanks to the efforts of the health department. He said that the health department will try to eliminate polio completely from the country.

Further, he said that the department will conduct door-to-door vaccination, urging people to render their support and provide details of kids in the house. Stating that people living in flats do not allow vaccinators to enter, he urged people to support the cause as much as possible.
