Passenger traffic on the rise - Mangalore Airport Director Vasudeva

Mangalore, Aug 25, 2011 : Speaking about the growth experienced by the Mangalore Airport, Director M. R. Vasudeva said that the number of passengers using this airport has risen to 4.74 lakh during the first seven months of 2011 as opposed to the 4.83 lakh during the same time in 2010.

 

Revealing more facts and figures, the director said that international traffic has risen from 1.38 lakh passengers to 1.46 passengers and domestic traffic has risen from 3.36 lakh to 3.37 lakh.

In sharp contrast to the rise in passenger traffic, flight volume has come down from 6,288 last year to 5,572 this year.

He said that air traffic will increase from Oct 25 because more domestic flights are scheduled to operate this winter. The weekly flight movement will rise from 147 to 194, increasing passenger traffic to 9 lakh by the end of this year.
