PVS Group Chairman Madhusudan Kushe passes away

Mangalore, May 22, 2013: Madhusudan Kushe, Chairman and Managing Director of the city based PVS Group passed away this evening at 4:00 p.m., following brief illness. He was aged 79 and is survived by his wife Sarojini M. Kushe.
 

Madhusudan Kushe, PVS GroupBorn on 16 November 1934 in Goa, he was married to Sarojini Kushe, the granddaughter of PVS Group founder Puthu Vaikunta Shet and was appointed his successor and Chairman of the group after his demise.

Madhusudan Kushe and his wife Sarojini were well known for their generosity and philanthropic activities. They were ranked as one of the largest donors of the city for a variety of causes including complete renovation of Tagore Park and contribution of clock tower at PVS Junction.

After he took over the Chairmanship of the group he spearheaded widespread growth for the company including developing export market for premium quality beedies. A gentle and amiable person, he was known his entrepreneurial zeal, dynamism and flair for innovation. Construction of landmark buildings like PVS Sadan at Kodialbail, then the tallest building along the west coast outside Bombay, and PVS Kala Kunj, then the most modern auditorium in the city were his brainchild.

The Kushes have also supported many educational causes including establishing Sarojini Madhusudan Kushe School and PU College at Attavar, Mangalore and PVS Sarojini Madhusudan Kushe Higher Secondary School at Assagao, Bardez, Goa.

Mortal remains of Madhusudan Kushe will be placed his residence near Passport Office at Kodialbail, Mangalore on Thursday, 23rd May 2013 morning for final respects.
