Over 1000 children take part in national-level Shri Krishna Vesha competition

Mangalore, Sep 8, 2012: Over 1000 children took part in Kalkura Prathishtana’s national-level Shri Krishna Vesha Competition held at Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple on September 8, Saturday. 


The objective of this competition is to increase religious and cultural awareness among the public and encourage children to showcase their talents. The event, which began this noon, will continue till midnight.

The competition was held in 16 different categories in different venues at the temple. The categories were Kanda Krishna for kids below one, Muddu Krishna for kids below two, Thunta Krishna for kids in the age group of 2 – 3, Bala Krishna for KG and LKG kids, Kishora Krishna for UKG and Std I kids, Shri Krishna for Std. II, Std. III, and Std. IV kids, Geetha Krishna for kids up to Std. VII, Yaksha Krishna for kids up to Std. VIII, Yashoda Krishna for women and children, Shankanada, Devaki Krishna, and Vasudeva Krishna. 


This year, a special category called Nanda Gokula was also introduced for groups of 5  people of different age groups. Besides, a quiz on the life of Shri Krishna was held for kids up to Std. VII. 


Each participant received free books on Lord Krishna, a certificate, a picture of Lord Manjunatha, cloth bags, and a panchaloha idol of Kadagolu Krishna. Milk, ice cream, and pedas were also distributed among the kids.
