Oscar Fernandes tells party workers to get ready for elections

Udupi, Oct 25, 2012: Rajya Sabha MP and AICC General Secretary Oscar Fernandes said on Tuesday that Congress party workers must make preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka.

Addressing a party workers meeting held in Congress Bhavan, he said that the next assembly elections will be held soon, and party workers’ should be prepared for them. He urged party workers to reach out to voters at the booth level.

Since the Election Commission (EC) has begun the task of enrolling voters and drawing up voters’ lists, he said that party workers must check if any voter’s name was missing in the list. He urged party workers to enroll all voters in this list.

Mr. Fernandes also reminded party workers that Mrs. Sonia Gandhi had urged them to forget their differences and work in unity for a cause when she visited Mangalore to address the party workers’ convention and inaugurate the Mangalore Dasara.
