Notorious criminal Nagaraj produced before court

Udupi, Nov 12, 2013 : Notorious criminal Nagaraj Balegar alias Satish who was arrested in Goa recently along with his wife Lakshmi, in connection with a theft, case, was produced before the District Court on November 11, Monday.

Rowdy Nagaraj 1 He had earlier escaped from the clutches of the Kerala police while being brought to Udupi from Trissur in August this year. Later, it came to light that he had fled from a lodge room where he was placed by the police.

It is said he had fled to Goa later on where he along with his wife had resorted to theft. Police who took up investigation, subsequently arrested the couple.

Nagaraj is wanted in connection with over 25 cases including murders and thefts in Karnataka, Goa and Kerala. He has the dubious distinction of escaping from the clutches of the police thrice in the past.

The Udupi Court has remanded Nagaraj to custody till Monday evening. He is expected to be once again handed over to the custody of Goa police.
