Mangalore, Nov 9, 2013: G Gopalkrishna, Executive Director of Reserve Bank of India inaugurated the Nitte Institute of Banking and Finance at Derlakatte on November 9, Saturday. A formal function was held at KS Hegde Auditorium in connection with the inaugural.
In his address, Gopalkrishna said the commercial bank staff need to be equipped with better skills and knowledge to face the competition in the field.








S.R. Bansal, Chairman and Managing Director of Corporation Bank, who was present as a chief guest, said good training will go a long way in helping banking staff render good service to the customers.
Syndicate Bank Chairman and Managing Director Sudhir Kumar Jain said risk management should get due attention in the banking sector. He also appreciated the Nitte group for opening the Institute of Banking and Finance, which he said would help in offering the right training for banking professionals.
Dr.N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, who presided over the function said sincere customer service is a must for success in the banking field. Dr. NK Tingalaya, former chairman of Syndicate Bank, Dr Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor of Nitte University, Dr Ramananda Shetty, Vice Chancellor, Vishal Hegde, Trustee of Nitte Education Trust, Dr MS Moodittaya, Dr Rajashekhar, Staff Development Director and others were present.
