New local channel ‘Abbakka TV 24*7 to be launched on Jan 31

Mangalore, Jan 24, 2013: A new local channel ‘Abbakka TV 24*7’ presented by ‘Will Power Media’ will be launched at Abbakka Vedike, Kulal Mandir, Kolya on Jan 31, Thursday at 10.45 am.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Jan 24, Thursday, channel programme director Shashidhar Poyyathabail said that the channel will be aired through CCN channel to areas like Kallapu, Thokkottu Beeri, Thalapady, Manjeshwar, Deralakatte, Mudipu Bolyaru, Ira, Salethoor and nearby places.

In coming days it will be aired  through Puttur Cable Network (PCN) and Kasargod City Cable (KCC).

He said as goes the name of the channel after a valiant woman, it will  give importance to both minor as well as major programmes organised by and for women. The channel will also telecast  ‘Bhakti Sudha’ programme  in the mornings, he added.

Sri Matanandamayi of Odiyoor will inaugurate the event along with  seven women symbolically representing Abbakka.   The other inaugurators are Prasanna Manjunath, Sulochana Chittaranjan, Dr Ashajyothi Rai,  Shahnaz Razak, Kripa Amar Alva, Bharathi B M and Soumya Raveendra Shetty.

Social worker and entrepreneur Dr G Shankar will launch the channel. Nitte University Vice Chancellor N Vinay Hegde will launch the logo of the channel, while Mumbai based businessman Suresh Kanchan will be the chief guest.

Many dignitaries including MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat, Krishna J Palemar, U T Khader, Ramanath Rai, Legislators, Capt Ganesh Karnik,  Monappa Bhandary, Members of Legislative Council will participate in the function.

 Ashwini Harish Nayak, Supreeth Bhandary Ira, Ganesh Thalapady and Gangadhar Piliyoor were present at the press meet.
