Mangalore, Oct 5, 2012: T. Krishnappa Poojary, president of the district youth Janatha Dal (S), told reporters at a press meet held in Hotel Woodlands on Oct 4 Thursday that he would like to thank H. D. Kumaraswamy, state president of JD(S) and S. Madhu Bangarappa, president of the state Youth Janatha Dal (S), for electing him as the president of the district youth JD(S). He also expressed his gratitude to all the senior JD(S) leaders.
Further, he announced that he will appoint office bearers in all the 8 constituencies within one month, adding that his chief aim is to get more youth into the JD(S) and make it a strong party. The JD(S) will accept young people from all communities and religions and make the party a secure one, he stated.
Listing out his plans for the future, he said that the JD(S) will give importance to strengthening the party at the village level and introducing more booths in the district level. The youth JD(S) will also hold a vehicle jatha to enhance public awareness regarding the upcoming elections. It will also conduct a membership drive in the district, he added.
Regarding internal clashes within the JD(S) and the recent ban of Shashiraj from the JD(S) and also regarding the absence of several JD(S) members at the press meet, JD(S) leader M. B. Sadashiv said that there are no internal conflicts within the party. According to rumors, Shashiraj Shetty and M. G. There are also rumors that Nagaraj Shetty is unhappy about this and is extending his support to Shashiraj Shetty.
Other JD(S) leaders present at the press meet refused to comment on the internal conflicts within the party.
Among those present were Amarnath Shetty, state vice president; M. B. Sadashiv, district president; Mohammed Kunhi, working president; A. Vasanth Poojary, JD(S) general secretary; and Srinath Rai, working president of the Youth JD(S).
