National level Management Fest ’Zephyr 12’ inaugurated at St Joseph Engineering college

Mangalore, March 27, 2012: Zephyr – 12, A National P.G. Management Fest organized by the Department of Business Administration, St Joseph Engineering college was inaugurated on 27th March, 2012 at the college Conference Hall.

 

The function was inaugurated by the Chief Guest – Dr B.K. Ravindra, Principal, S.D.M. Law College, Mangalore; Guests of Honour – Rev. Fr Henry Mascarenhas, Asst Director – SJEC and Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal – SJEC; President – Rev. Fr Valerian D’ Souza, Director – SJEC; and other dignitaries - Dr. Prakash Pinto, Dean – MBA; Ms Smita Jesudasan, Faculty Co-ordinator and Mr Darren Britto, Mr Rayan D’Souza, Student Co-ordinators.

Dr B. K. Ravindra, Principal, S.D.M. Law College, Mangalore in his Inaugural Address remarked that the students should be grateful to their alma mater for the excellent education received. He asserted that ethics is the buzz word for the younger generation to adopt and practice. Addressing on cyber ethics, he commented that “As long as you are using computer and internet for legal purpose you are within the purview of cyber ethics”. He highlighted the ten commandments of cyber ethics to be exercised by all in their lives.

Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal – SJEC in his Guest of Honour Address greeted the participants and expressed that the students should follow traditions, suitable practices to fetch an answer to differentiate between the right and the wrong through wisdom. And he affirmed that “Technology can be used for good and bad purposes”.

 Rev. Fr Henry Mascarenhas, Assistant Director – SJEC, in his Guest of Honour Address stressed that the nation should be corrupt free and the task to achieve the same should be borne by the youth.

Rev. Fr Valerian D’Souza, Director – SJEC, in his Presidential Address remarked that ethics made a person strong. He wished the students to follow the ethical rules and practices to exhibit the citizenship of the country. He stated that values were more important than money.
 
The SJEC M.B.A. team choir invoked God’s blessings and graces. Mr. Darren Britto, Zephyr Student Co-ordinator welcomed the eminent gathering. Mr. Rayan Joseph D’ Souza, Zephyr Student Co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks.

 Mr. Lanston Mario Pinto and Ms.Lasya Murthy were the M.C’s for the Inaugural Session. Eleven student teams from various colleges in Mangalore, Bangalore, Kasargod, and Davangere are participating at Zephyr 12.
