Mangalore, Nov 17: Nandini released its 6 kg jumbo curds pack into the market on Nov 16, Monday, in order to celebrate the Cooperative Sale, Trade, Consumer Day. 

G Somashekar Reddy, the president of Karnataka Milk Producers Union, inaugurated the function. Prof Dr M Shantaram Shetty, the chairman of Tejaswini Hospital and SSIOT, Kadri, Mangalore, released Nandini’s 6 kg jumbo curds pack.

In his inaugural speech, G Somashekar Reddy said that DK is the first district in the state to have the 6kg jumbo curds pack, which proves the fact that Nandini is very popular among the people. The jumbo curds pack is expected to be of much help to merchants. Since the production of milk in the district is declining, the need to borrow milk from other districts is great. 

He also said that the state government is willing to provide a variety of grants to milk-producing unions and milk producers to enhance milk production because Nandini is a number-one milk and milk products company in the world with an outlet in Hong Kong. Nandini is soon expected to make its presence felt in other countries too. The demand for Nandini products in many countries is great. Therefore, Nandini has planned to expand its business to other countries. 

Dr Shantharam Shetty addressed the gathering and said that the jumbo curds pack reflects the hard work, dedication, and efficiency of Nandini. The packet also tells stories of the hard-working women of the district and the union that is supporting them. Lauding the qualities of Nandini milk, Dr Shetty said that milk is a nutritious food that boosts energy and increases the body’s power of resistance. He also said that people who have developed the habit of drinking milk from childhood can successfully keep diseases away. He informed the gathering that milk comprises vitamins and calcium, which is required for the bones. 

M N Rajendra Kumar, president of Karnataka State Apex Bank; P B Divakar Rai; R S Nooli; K Savithri Rai, the chief executive officer of DKDMPU; Chandrashekar Nayak, the director of DKDMPU; Dr M Venkatramu; and office bearers of DKDMPU were present during this occasion.
