


Mangalore, Feb 7, 2013: At the District  Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting held at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat   meeting hall held here on February 7, Thursday, MP Nalin Kumar directed the officials to identify all half repaired roads and complete the works before the onset of monsoon.
Earlier, the meeting witnessed heated debate  over the issue. The MP even wanted to know the reason for the delay in the completion of the Mani-Sampaje rod works. The KRDCL officials who were present said as of now 35 kms work has been completed out of the total 72 km stretch of work and said the work would be completed by May.
NH  Department official present in the meeting, informed that a sum of Rs 13  crore has been earmarked for the repair of the Shiradi Ghat. He also  stated that the widening of the Bellare-Sullia road is in progress and  that the work would be complete by march 15. Deputy Commissioner N Prakash who too participated directed that all pending road works be completed at the earliest.
 
 Earlier in the meeting, the MP Nalin Kumar Kateel took the Executive  officer to task for violating protocol by not inviting  him for the  inaugural of Rajeev Gandhi Seva Kendras and said warned against doing so  henceforth, particularly when MPs get funds for the Kendras.
 
 ZP Chief Koragappa Naik, Vice President Ritesh Shetty, ZP Chief Executive Officer Dr KN Vijayaprakash and others were present.
