Muttalib murder case: Cops seize machetes, revolver used by assailants

Kasargod, Nov 21, 2013: Kasargod police have seized two machetes and a revolver which were used by the assailants in the case of murder of Uppala’s real estate businessman Muttalib. The murder took place on the night of October 24  when Muttalib was on way home in his car.

The machetes and the blood stained clothes of the assailants were recovered from a deserted area at Bappaithotti, while the revolver was seized from Manimunda Kadappura. The police had earlier brought the accused namely Kalia Rafique (42) and Samshuddin (24) to the spot amid tight security. The faces of the two were covered as identification parade  is yet to be held by the police.

 

It has been gathered that Kalia Rafique, the prime accused in the case has confessed that the revolver belonged to Ansar (25) of Kurudapadavu. It is learnt, it was Ansar, a businessman in Mumbai who had given the revolver to Rafique. Police have also arrested Ansar in connection with the case.

All the arrested have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody for two weeks.
