Manipal: Kerala youth held for reckless, dangerous driving

Udupi, Aug 12, 2025: A youth from Kerala was taken into custody along with his car by Manipal police on August 11 morning for allegedly driving recklessly and dangerously near the MIT Junction in Manipal.
According to reports, Shohail Neelakath (26), a resident of Kandangan in Kannur, Kerala, had fully tinted windows on his car and was driving from Udupi towards Hiriyadka in a negligent and hazardous manner. He was allegedly putting human lives at risk by driving erratically, causing danger to two-wheelers and other vehicles, and making extremely loud noises.
The Manipal police chased the car and intercepted it near the MIT Junction, taking the driver into custody. A case has been registered at the Manipal police station.
