Mangaluru, Aug 1, 2025: The Mangaluru City Women’s Police have arrested two long-term absconding accused (LPC – Long Pending Case) in separate cases.

In the first case, a warrant had been issued against the fourth accused, P. Damodhar, who had been absconding for nearly 14 years in connection with a case registered in 2011. He was arrested by the police and produced before the court.

LPC accused

Case 1:

On March 14, 2011, a raid was conducted at Dhanyavad Lodge, Hampankatte, Mangaluru, where immoral activities were detected. The Women’s Police Station registered FIR No. 04/2011 under Sections 3(2)(a), 5(d), 2, and 7 of the ITP Act. Following the investigation, a charge sheet was filed against four accused. While the court acquitted the first three accused, the fourth accused, P. Damodhar (approx. 40 years), son of G. Gangadhar, resident of Hoige Bazaar, Mangaluru, went absconding. Consequently, the court had issued an LPC warrant against him. After a special operation, PI Balakrishna and his team traced and arrested Damodhar, who was subsequently produced before the court, which has remanded him to judicial custody.

Case 2:

In the second case, the accused, Ubaidullah (aged 39 in 2018), a resident of Little Flower Apartment, Kankanady, Mangaluru, was wanted in a domestic violence and dowry harassment case registered in 2018 (FIR No. 54/2018) under Sections 498(A) and 504 IPC. He had allegedly subjected his wife to mental and physical harassment, took her gold ornaments, sold them, and fled abroad without any contact, while also verbally abusing her. The court had issued an LPC warrant as he had been absconding for around seven years.

On July 29, 2025, based on intelligence that Ubaidullah was arriving at Kannur International Airport from abroad, the police apprehended him at the airport and produced him before the court.
