Mangaluru, Sep 2, 2025: In a crackdown on drug trafficking, Panambur police arrested two men from Bihar for possessing and attempting to sell ganja within the Panambur police station limits.
Acting on a tip-off, Panambur PSI Gnanasekhara and his team, under the supervision of ACP (North) Srikant K R and Inspector Mohammed Saleem Abbas, raided the Thokuru railway station road on September 1 around 4:40 pm. Two youths were caught with narcotics intended for sale.
The accused are Harsh Kumar (22) of Nalanda district and Amar Kumar (28) of Vaishali district, Bihar. Police recovered 1.23 kg of ganja from Harsh Kumar and 80 grams from Amar Kumar, together valued at about ₹75,000. Two mobile phones allegedly used for drug sales were also seized.
Preliminary inquiries revealed Harsh Kumar previously worked at a Meesho and Flipkart hub in Patna, while Amar Kumar was employed at a vegetable shop in Delhi. Both allegedly targeted the public in Mangaluru for narcotics sales.
A case has been registered under NDPS Act Section 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B) at Panambur police station (Crime No. 75/2025). Investigations are ongoing.
