Mangaluru: TV Vikrama chief Mahesh Vikram Hegde arrested over post on CM

Mangaluru, Sep 13, 2025: Mahesh Vikram Hegde (45), chief of TV Vikrama, has been arrested for allegedly posting an objectionable comment against the chief minister on social media.
Police said Hegde, using the Facebook handle “Post Card”, had posted a statement that read: “Honourable Chief Minister, if you dare to send a bulldozer once on the mosque of those who pelted stones on the Ganesh procession, such incidents will never recur anywhere in the state next year.”
Based on this, a case was registered at Moodbidri police station (Crime No. 143/2025) under Section 353(2) of the BNS Act. Moodbidri police, who investigated the case, arrested Hegde in Bengaluru and produced him before the CJ and KMFC court in Moodbidri on September 12.
The court has remanded him to judicial custody till September 15.
