Mangaluru, Jan 31, 2023: All outsourced workers of local administrative bodies including drivers of garbage transportation vehicles, waters supply helpers, loaders, cleaners and underground drainage workers will go on an indefinite strike from February 1 onwards in support of their demand to regularise their services in a phased manner on the lines of municipal workers.
This was informed to reporters here by B K Annappa Karekkadu, Convenor of the Karavali unit of the Karnataka State Association of Outsourced Workers of local administrative bodies.
He said the government has done injustice to over 15000 people who are working as outsourced workers in various local administrative bodies by depriving them of various facilities.
He said as part of the protest the workers would stop water supply as well as suspend cleanliness works.
He said outsourced workers of all 330 local administrative bodies of the state will take part in the protest.
