Mangaluru, June 22, 2020:    Pranesh, an engineering student from Mangaluru has created a world record for  the longest poem in Tulu language. He has been awarded a certificate in this regard by the World Book of Records, United Kingdom which states that he has been  included for innovative creation as one of the Longest Poem in Tulu language. Pranesh, a resident of Kulshekhar in Mangaluru is a student of Sahyadri Engineering College and is pursuing second year mechanical engineering.

His record  making Tulu poem "Tulunada Aisiri" has 2241 Tulu words and 108 stanzas. He has  used over 30 A4 sheets for this poem. In all, the poem is 21 feet long.

The  423 line poem  deals with Tulunad, its festivals, celebrations, Daiva worship, Nagaradhane, holy places, traditional games and so on and he has given a literary touch  to the appeal to include Tulu in the 8th Schedule of the Indian constitution.
