Mangaluru, Oct 3, 2025: The vibrant Dasara festivities at Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra, established by Brahmashree Narayana Guru, concluded with grandeur as the Navarathri Mahotsava came to a close. The city-wide procession of Goddess Sharada and Navadurgas, installed during the festival, culminated on Friday morning with the ceremonial immersion at the temple premises.

The grand procession, which was flagged off at 4 p.m. yesterday under the guidance of Dr. B. Janardhana Poojary, former Union Minister and key contributor to the temple’s development, traversed through the streets of Mangaluru throughout the night. The idols were immersed around 6:30 a.m. at the temple’s water tank, marking the end of the celebrations.

Thousands of devotees from across India and abroad thronged the city to witness the majestic spectacle. The streets of Mangaluru glittered with decorative lights, and the procession featured traditional drums, cultural performances, Hulivesha (tiger dance), tableaus, dazzling light displays, and the famed ‘Moodu Deepa’ (three lights procession).

For security, the area was declared a no-conflict zone, with CCTV cameras installed along the procession routes to ensure smooth conduct without any untoward incidents.

At the time of immersion, a green firecracker was lit at the temple’s main entrance. Some Congress workers, dressed in blue turbans, offered a grand welcome to Goddess Sharada.

Thus, the Mangaluru Dasara 2025 celebrations drew to a magnificent close.
