Mangalorean Milagres Society holds centenary celebrations in Kallianpur

Udupi, Oct 23, 2012 : The Mangalorean Milagres Society, which is based at Bandra in Mumbai, held its centenary celebrations at Milagres Cathedral in Kallianpur on Oct 21, Sunday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop of Udupi Diocese, was the chief celebrant of the mass held on the occasion, with Fr. Stany B. Lobo, rector of Udupi Diocese; Fr. Frederick D’Souza, the vicar of St. Anna’s Church in Thottam; and Fr. Agnelo D’Souza of Pilar Fathers in Kallianpur concelebrating.

The bishop released the Hymns Book, which was donated to the Milagres Cathedral by Milagres Society.

A get-together was then held at the Milagres Tri-centenary Hall after mass with Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo presiding. The chief guest was Fr. Stany B. Lobo.

The guests of the occasion were Dr. Neri Cornelio, principal of Milagres College in Kallianpur; Pius Vaz, advocate at Bombay High Court; Fr. Frederick D’Souza, vicar at St. Anna’s Church in Thottam; Stany D’Souza, president of Mangaloreans Society; and Charles P. Pereira, general secretary.

Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo, Ronald Menezes, and Dr. Neri Cornelio addressed the gathering. The officials of the society honored Fr. Gerald Isaac Lobo.

An entertainment program comprising live music and a comedy show was the highlight of the event.
