Mangalore, Nov 25, 2013 : The ‘Year of Faith’ observance by the Diocese of Mangalore concluded at Nehru Maidan in Mangalore on November 24, Sunday. A variety of programmes marked the end of the three day event held as part of the valedictory function.
Thousands of faithful, priests and nuns attended the event which began with a prayer by Fr Ronald Cardoza, a priest from Chikmagalur and Secretary of Evangelists. He also delivered the Message of Faith and said each and every faithful must propagate the message given by Jesus Christ.
Fr Franklin D’Soua, National Director of Indian Catholic Youth Movement and Fr Joseph Martin delivered a series of lectures on the occasion.
Rev Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore who celebrated the Holy Mass, in his message exhorted the Faithful to practice what they preach just as the Lord walked according to his words.
The Bishop announced on the occasion that the New Year will be observed as a year of Confession and Forgiveness.
