Mangalore, Nov 5, 2013 : The Sri Rama Sene staged a protest at the KSRTC bus terminus premises at Bejai in Mangalore on November 4, Monday night to protest against the charging of higher fares by the KSRTC during the season of festive rush.

The protest was led by Sri Rama Sene leader Prasad Attavar and many Sri Rama Sene activists. They while welcoming the introduction of additional buses during the festive season of Diwali, at the same time said levying higher fares over and above the actual fares was not acceptable by any count.
As the protest was underway inside the bus stand premises, the Barke police who rushed to the spot, saw to it that the protestors were dispersed.
The agitators later submitted a memorandum to the KSRTC authorities requesting against levying higher fares from passengers. The KSRTC depot manager who was present, has assured to look into the demand.
Meanwhile, Sri Rama Sene leader Prasad Attavar has warned that his organization would resort to severe protest in the days to come if the KSRTC continues the practice of fleecing passengers during festive season.
