Mangalore, Feb 23, 2013: On the last date of filing nomination for the MCC poll, many candidates from BJP, Congress, JD(S), as well as independents were seen waiting in a queue to submit their nominations at the MCC office on February 23, Saturday. Many more were seen filling the nomination forms.
Friends and supporters of the contesting candidates were also seen waiting in front of the MCC. Though most of the candidates had filed their nominations on February 22,Friday, others had postponed it to Saturday, on the grounds that February 22 was not an auspicious day.

Congress candidate of Marakada ward Harinath said the morale of the Congress workers is boosted on seeing a huge support for the party this time. He was critical of the BJP for raising the minimum water bill and alleged the BJP administration had also failed to provide sites to the poor.
