Mangalore, Dec 12, 2012 : Leaders cutting across party lines as well as representatives of various organizations participated in a Satyagraha for a just cause in front of the DC office in Mangalore on December 12, Wednesday.

Their demand was a good compensation package for the hundreds of Endosulfan affected people who are leading a difficult life.
JR Lobo, Congress leader and former MCC Commissioner, who addressed the protestors said it was a regret that our governments were delaying the process of issuing compensation to the affected people, while that it would not have been the case in any other developed nation where the government would have been quick to come to the aid of the distressed people.
Prof. Vishwanath, lecturer, who also spoke, emphasized the need for a thorough survey of the Endosulfan affected people and said the government survey in this regard was not satisfactory.
Shakuntala Shetty, former Puttur MLA urged for more rehabilitation centres for endosulfan victims.
Senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes too arrived at the Satyagraha venue and addressed the participants.
Muneer Katipalla, DYFI leader, N Ismail, Principal of Badria College. PV Mohan, organizer of the Satyagraha, Appi, Corporator, Kripa Amar Alva and others were present.
